It is a breathtaking show on Saturday 22nd July starting at 6pm, organised by the Pro Loco Santa Sofia, the acrobatic crossing above the Ridracoli dam, preview event of the XXXII Festival “Di Strada in Strada” 2023 – “Innovative Tradizioni”, an event that takes place in Santa Sofia (FC) and in the hamlets of Spinello and Corniolo from 11 to 15 August.
During this preview at 7:30 p.m., Andrea Loreni, the Italian tightrope walker specializing in crossings at great heights who recently completed the incredible walk between the skyscrapers of Milan, who will stretch a cable over the dam with his team, for a length of about 410 meters at a height of about 140 meters, taking about 45 minutes to cross it. In Ridracoli the feat is unique: in addition to being the longest walk in the world made with human counterweights, it is also a personal record for length for the artist Loreni, who will exceed the distance of 350 meters covered during the 2022 crossing in Frassinetto (TO) at 300 meters.
Loreni will cross the sky above the dam balanced on a specially made Dyneema cable (a synthetic fiber up to 15 times stronger than a steel cable), with his technicians hanging in front and behind him to tension and stabilize the cable.
