The Archaeological Museum of Florence – MAF – celebrates Valentine's Day with an event dedicated to love in ancient times

On the occasion of the feast of Saint Valentine, the Archaeological Museum of Forlimpopoli organizes a special event entitled “At the banquet of Love and Psyche”, which offers a unique experience at the crossroads between the charm of history and culinary pleasure. The event is scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, February 14th, precisely at 6.30 pm, at the MAF.

The experience will begin with a guided tour that aims to explore the different manifestations of love in ancient times, highlighting the social conventions and ritualistic practices of the time. Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to taste an exquisite aperitif, which includes a selection of dishes prepared by ArkeoGustus. These delicacies are inspired by a wide range of historical periods, from the Roman era to the Middle Ages, up to the 19th century, and are based on ancient recipes. During the event, numerous fascinating stories about legendary loves, deities and historical figures will also be shared, thus enriching the evening with stimulating curiosities and providing an interesting contrast to the flavors rediscovered through the practice of experimental archaeology.
