Unique in type and size, the Castrocaro Fortress is composed of three distinct structures:
Girona, Fortress and Medicean Arsenal.
Inside the museum complex, you can visit the Medici fortress and armoury, the Castellano palace, the courtyard, the church of Santa Barbara, the prison tower, the troglodyte cave and the so-called 'balcony'.

Dall'Acquacheta', from where you can admire a breathtaking panorama as far as Monte Falterona.
The Museum of History and Archaeology called 'L'AQUILA, LE CHIAVI, IL GIGLIO' is housed in the rooms of the Palazzo del Castellano, where weapons, terracotta, paintings, furniture and antiques are on display.

Saturday: 15:00-19:00

Sundays and public holidays: 10:00-13:00 / 15:00-19:00

ENTRANCE FEE (at the Fortress and the Historical Museum):

- Full price: € 5.00 (15 to 65 years).
- Reduced price: € 4.00 (7 to 14 years, over 65 years, teachers with teacher card)
- Free: 0 to 6 years old, residents in the municipality of Castrocaro Terme and Terra del Sole, disabled persons with accompanying person.

Dogs are permitted, on a leash and muzzle in accordance with Presidential Decree no. 320/1954, exclusively in the open-air areas of the museum grounds. Dogs are not allowed inside the Fortress premises.
