From December 8th to January 6th, Castrocaro Terme and Terra del Sole offer an engaging program to experience an unforgettable Christmas between tradition and magic in the surrounding villages. Here are some of the main events scheduled:
December 8 – Lighting of the Christmas Lights and Christmas Market “Al Banchet ad Nadel”
Celebrate the Immaculate Conception in Terra del Sole with the lighting of the lights and a toast around the fire, accompanied by mulled wine. From 10:00 to 19:00, the Christmas market at Palazzo Pretorio offers handmade gifts, Christmas decorations and local products. In the afternoon, readings and workshops under the tree, Santa Claus and his Elves for children, and guided tours of the village and the Palace. Starting at noon, the food stand offers typical dishes and mulled wine. Free admission.
December 12 – Christmas Concert
Avis Castrocaro Terme e Terra del Sole and AIDO Intercomunale Forlì invite you to the Christmas Concert with the Sweet Bows Quartet and tenor Mauro Collina. The program includes performances of violins, viola and cello, accompanied by the greeting of the AIDO President, Mirco Bresciani, and the delivery of certificates to deserving AVIS members by the Mayor Francesco Billi. The concert will begin at 8:30 pm. Free admission.
December 15th - Dog Christmas Party and 13th Photo Contest
The Compagni di Vita association is organizing the twelfth edition of the free Stella di Natale photography contest and a dog Christmas party. At 2:30 pm there will be dog demonstrations and the presentation of an original dog nativity scene made with waste materials, with interactive performances. At 3:00 pm there will be the award ceremony for the photographs, which will be displayed on the dog center's Christmas tree. Participation is open to all with free admission.
Enter by submitting a photo of your dog by December 8, 2024, with two themes: “A selfie with your dog” and “Your Christmas dog.”
December 20th – Christmas Essay
At 5:00 pm, the Brass Group of the G. Rossini School of Music will perform a Christmas recital at the Palazzo Pretorio in Terra del Sole.
December 22nd – Christmas Dog Parade,
an event dedicated to our four-legged friends, to celebrate their beauty, charm and elegance. The day will begin at 3:30 pm with registrations on site, followed by the dog parade at 5:00 pm. The awards ceremony will see the most distinctive dogs win titles such as “Piccola Canaglia”, “Nonno Sprint” and “Tale e Quale”. The event will take place in Piazza Mazzini and children will have the opportunity to participate as judges of the parade.
From 22 December 2024 to 6 January 2025, the Palazzo Pretorio of Terra del Sole will host the 36th Nativity Scene Exhibition “The Magic of Christmas in the Land of the Sun”. The exhibition will feature around a hundred handcrafted nativity scenes, transforming the fascinating rooms of the palace into a showcase of art and tradition. The exhibition will be open every day, from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 18:30. In addition, it will be possible to enjoy a glass of mulled wine in Piazza d'Armi, immersed in the Christmas atmosphere, with the warmth of the fire making the experience even more special.
From December 22, 2024 to January 6, 2025, every day starting at 5:00 p.m., the Fire Group will offer a suggestive vigil around the Christmas log in Piazza d'Armi in Terra del Sole. The event includes mulled wine and embers for everyone, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere to fully experience the magic of Christmas.
January 6th
The Befana is coming: At 3:30 pm in Piazza d'Armi, Terra del Sole. The Befana arrives with sweets and joy! Organized by Pro Loco Terra del Sole.
Epiphany Concert:
Traditional concert of the Band “A. Orsini” of Castrocaro Terme and Terra del Sole.
In addition, guided tours and workshops for children are planned at the Palazzo Pretorio di Terra del Sole and the Fortezza di Castrocaro Terme.
