Visit the majestic CASTROCARO FORTRESS!
For about a millennium, the large manor, erected on the rocky spur that has made it a fascinating and original panoramic subject, has watched over the town below.
An unrepeatable combination in which the fortified architecture is inextricably linked to the surrounding environment.
Unique in its type and size, the Castrocaro Fortress is composed of three distinct architectural and defensive works: the Girone, the Rocca and the Medici Arsenals.
Inside the museum complex, you can visit the Medici Fortress and Arsenals, the Castellano Palace, the Courtyard of Arms, the Courtyard, the Church of Santa Barbara, the Prison Tower, the troglodyte caves, and the so-called "Balcony of Acquacheta," which offers a breathtaking view stretching as far as Mount Falterona. The rooms of the Castellano Palace house the Historical-Archaeological Museum, entitled "THE EAGLE, THE KEYS, THE LILY“, where weapons, majolica, paintings, furniture and ancient furnishings are exhibited.
