Tuesday 16 July at 21:30in the picturesque setting of the Bertinoro Fortress Gardens, Goran Bregovic, the most famous Balkan musician and composer, opens his summer tour in Italy as part of the Entroterre Festival.
Accompanied by his Wedding and Funeral Band, Bregovic presents a show that combines historical hits, recent songs and previews of future projects. With trumpets, trombones, bass drums, clarinet, saxophone and Bulgarian vocals, the instruments, rooted in the gypsy tradition, harmoniously blend Bulgarian vocals, Slavic folklore, Orthodox sacred polyphony and modern rock beats, creating a melting pot of styles that draws the audience into a gentle collective trance.
Rooted in the Balkans and projected into the 21st century, Bregovic mixes tzigane fanfares, Bulgarian polyphonies, electric guitars and traditional percussion with rock accents, resulting in music that is familiar and irresistible to the audience.
